THE AU SABLE RIVER is a famous trout stream that runs through Michigan’s Huron National Forest. It’s my favorite retreat from the demands of solo field investigations that take me all over America. Professional accounting and serious sport fishing are two of my passions.
You might say that both took root early in my boyhood up in Michigan. That’s where I learned the old fashioned values that have made me at home wading through the numbers and footnotes of America’s corporations.
You may recognize my values: patience, attention to detail, honest work to achieve a satisfying result. Since my graduation from Michigan State University (BS, Business Administration, Accounting), and through the years as an auditor at KPMG, Comerica Bank, Bank of America, and GE Capital, I’ve always been casting about for the truth.
